One of the clients came to us with a very serious problem. Because of the incorrect installation of the split system, he flooded his neighbors. It turned out that when the air conditioner is turned on and running for heat, condensation forms on the outdoor unit. The outdoor unit, in turn, was mounted in a special shaft of the residential complex. In the same mine, there was a drainage riser. Previously, the installer did not divert condensate from the outdoor unit to the existing drain riser.

Mount the protective cap.
This winter, a woman called us and said that the icicle had damaged the air conditioner, after which it stopped working.

Another client complained about the smell of sewage in the room where the air conditioner is installed. At the exit, we identified the reason. When connecting the drainage system to the public sewer, a locking device was not installed.
When diverting drainage to the sewer of a residential building, check with the installation organization which siphons they will use for drainage.
It is necessary to use a dry siphon for air conditioners and condensate collection with a spring-loaded membrane and a transparent body; its highly sensitive membrane acts as an odor locking device. It prevents unpleasant sewer odors from entering the room.
Do nitrogen pressurization.
Recently, a family came to us with a common problem. The air conditioner does not work either for heat or cold. It turned out that the split system was installed by an unknown company that refused to solve the problem. When inspecting the equipment, it turned out that the installation, namely rolling, was performed poorly, which caused a freon leak at the junctions. We found the leak, plugged it and put the freon back into the system.
There are two rules here. First, it is best to turn to professionals who will not refuse to correct their mistakes. Secondly, after installing the air conditioner, it is necessary to carry out pressure testing with nitrogen to be completely sure that the system is tight. Pressurization with nitrogen is sometimes sold as a separate service, but it is not necessary to spare money for it.
