The Premier League A list of the greatest players of all time would be impossible without some of the biggest names in the game. While Sergio Aguero, Hakimi and Vieira are all worthy of inclusion, this list is far more diverse than that. Who would be in your top 50? Let’s take a look. Sergio Aguero
As a Premier League player, Sergio Aguero’s reputation has risen. His goals for Manchester City, both at Old Trafford and at Queens Park Rangers, are among the greatest in modern English football history. Aguero’s best goals came in the title race in 2012 and 2013, and at home against Tottenham Hotspur in 2011. While Aguero had several key moments for City, the most memorable one was his goal against Leicester City in February 2018.

After making a EUR60m move to Ligue 1, Hakimi has already begun a stellar career for the French side.
Another African international who dominated the game is Achraf Hakimi, who scored a record 71 goals in his career. Hakimi has a success rate of 70 per cent in his challenges. He also has a strong work ethic and is the most intelligent attacking midfielder of his generation. Unlike many other players, Hakimi played for two major European clubs – France and Spain.
One of the few players to play for his country at a high level, Hakimi made his mark by scoring the winning goal against Belgium in the Nations League semifinal. In the final, Hakimi’s superb pass to Karim Benzema secured victory for France. Those two goals were considered among the best in history. Among the best goals by African players, Hakimi’s hat trick was particularly memorable.
Vieira
Patrick Vieira is regarded as one of the greatest box-to-box midfielders of all time. He combined power and technical ability with exceptional vision to snatch goals. He was also excellent in the air and helped on both offense and defense. Vieira’s talent earned him a place in Pele’s list of the top 100 living footballers in 2004. Vieira’s exemplary play has earned him a place in the Top 50 best footballers of all time.
The CIES Football Observatory has evaluated domestic league experience of U20 players in 22 European competitions. The minutes played by each footballer were then weighted based on their sporting level in the leagues. The results of the employer club are also considered. Vieira’s ranking is a sign of his importance to football. With this kind of talent, the future of the game looks bright. However, his current form and fitness level may not have been enough to earn him a place in the top 50.

Shevchenko
Ukrainian striker Andriy Shevchenko is among the best players in the history of the game. The 30-year-old made his senior international debut in June 1992 and went on to become the country’s top goalscorer, scoring 48 goals in 111 games. He is also one of the greatest dribblers ever and was a prolific goalscorer, largely thanks to his positional instinct. The former Chelsea defender is currently manager of the national team.
Ukraine was part of the Soviet Union until 1991, but it has made a name for itself on the world stage. The country has qualified for three European Championships and one FIFA World Cup, but has failed to win any silverware. However, the best Ukrainian players have been called upon to step forward to represent the motherland. In the list below, Shevchenko is the top goal scorer in the country’s history.
A prolific striker, Shevchenko played for Dynamo Kyiv and Milan. He was sold to the Rossoneri for a world record $25 million. His burgeoning career prompted Chelsea to sign Didier Drogba and a record fee. Jose Mourinho was expected to use Shevchenko as a regular up front player. At the time of his move to Chelsea, Shevchenko was only 29 years old, but he seemed to grow up overnight.
Untouchables
Jose Mourinho is often credited with coining the term ‘Untouchables’ to describe his team’s greatest players. In 2006, the Chelsea manager listed his Untouchables, which included players such as Michael Ballack, Didier Drogba, Frank Lampard, and Ashley Cole. Other players in the list include Petr Cech and Ricardo Carvalho.
